The #FreeHer Campaign Calls For 100 Women To Be Granted Clemency During Biden’s First 100 Days

Weeks into President Biden’s presidency, he launched a racial equity plan to address the country’s ongoing problems with systemic racism and racial inequity. Among the administration’s executive actions included promises to not renew current contracts with privately owned prisons. Although the order was met with mixed reviews, it was the first step in reducing mass incarceration — an epidemic that disproportionately affects Black women. But some are demanding more. The #FreeHer Campaign called on Biden to grant clemency to 100 women during his first 100 days in office.
