Meet Our Founder

Stacey Borden

Stacey Borden is the Founder and Executive Director of New Beginnings Reentry Services, Inc. Her personal journey—spanning nearly 30 years of cycling in and out of prison since 1982—shaped her deep understanding of the system and its shortcomings. Driven by firsthand experience, Stacey became a dedicated advocate for individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence. She founded New Beginnings to address the critical lack of resources for those grappling with past traumas and the injustices of incarceration.

Today, in 2025, our mission remains as strong as ever: to promote healing and reduce recidivism. With our community's needs at the heart of every decision, New Beginnings has evolved from a residential program into a dynamic Adult Reentry Day Center.

Together, we continue to build a future where healing, empowerment, and second chances are accessible to all.

Our programs & resources

are a roadmap to

success.

From financial literacy and workforce development to trauma recovery and substance abuse support, our robust programs are designed to address the many challenges of reentry. We provide practical education, skill-building opportunities, and a strong community network to ensure that every person has what they need to thrive.

We envision a world where communities thrive as humans of all generations transition from unproductive environments to wholeness and self-sustainability.

SUCCESS STORIES

Nikki

In 2016, Nikki came home from MCI Framingham. She grew up in a verbally abusive home with a mother who struggled with alcoholism. Due to Nikki’s substance use disorder, she lost her apartment, her children, and found herself sleeping under a bridge.

After Nikki was released from incarceration, Stacey began to counsel her and encouraged her to go into therapy. Stacey accompanied Nikki to court and to the Department of Children and Family Services while advocating for Nikki to get her children back.

New Beginnings Reentry Services set goals with Nikki and put together a treatment plan that would help Nikki meet her goals of long term recovery, family reunification, and finding employment.

This year, Nikki won visitation rights with her 11-year-old son, while continuing to make amends with her older daughter. She has worked full-time as a Recovery Specialist since October 2017.
