From surviving
to thriving.

New Beginnings Reentry Services is an education and healing center for formerly incarcerated folks of all genders. Our programs facilitate healing through creative expression—including art therapy, music therapy, applied theater, and storytelling workshops in which our participants tell their stories on their terms, foster a sense of interconnectedness with their audiences to build community, and challenge dominant narratives about trauma and incarceration to imagine liberatory futures.

Music Therapy

In collaboration with the Berklee School of Music, music therapy sessions promote healing, self-expression, and mindfulness.
Theater

Participants will develop original works, practice public speaking, and share their stories through plays, speeches, and spoken word.
Yoga

Led by the Boston Yoga Collaborative, our weekly yoga classes promote mindfulness, gentle movement, and inner balance—supporting physical wellness and emotional healing in a welcoming space.
Art Therapy

Participants will develop skills in a variety of visual arts techniques (drawing, sculpture, sewing, woodworking, collage) to create projects of their choosing, tailored to their creative interests and healing needs.
Sound Healing

Sound healing and reiki workshops facilitate healing on a somatic level, promoting emotional and nervous system regulation.
Restorative Justice

Restorative Justice trainings provide participants with both group and one-on-one support for their respective healing needs, including tools/techniques to process traumatic stress, support substance use disorder recovery, facilitate conflict resolution, and deepen community building.
AA/NA Meetings

Peer-led Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous groups provide a safe, judgment-free space for individuals in recovery to share experiences, find support, and build strength together—one day at a time.
Cooking Classes

Weekly culinary arts classes will take place in our kitchen space.
Computer Education

Our computer literacy course equips participants with essential digital skills—from basic typing and internet use to email, word processing, and online job searching—helping them confidently navigate today’s heavily tech-driven world.
Financial Literacy

Participants learn the fundamentals of personal finance, including how to open and manage a bank account, create a budget, and build healthy credit—laying the groundwork for long-term financial stability and independence.
Workforce Development

In partnership with MassHire, this program helps participants build job-readiness skills through resume writing, cover letter development, interview preparation, and effective interpersonal communication—empowering them to confidently reenter the workforce.
Group Therapy

Our supportive group therapy sessions offer a safe, healing space for individuals working through substance use, mental health challenges, and trauma—fostering connection, resilience, and emotional well-being.
